|12/1/2022||Senior Boys Basketball||The senior Big Dawgs started their basketball season yesterday at home with games against the St. Mikes Warriors and South Huron Panthers and finishing the day with a win and loss.
In the first game of the season the team was up against the Warriors. Throughout the game the team showed steady improvement in both the offensive and defensive ends of the floor and showed small glimmers of their potential despite a tough loss.
Using their experience in the first game the team went up against the Panthers with an attitude of attack, attack, attack. In a fast paced game that saw the senior Salukis's pushing a lethal offence with 12 players getting on the score board and with Mason Boonstra leading all scorers with 18 points, the teamed rolled to a definitive victory with a score of 61-35.
Great job to all players and a reminder of the practice tomorrow morning at 7:00.
|12/1/2022||Junior Boys Basketball||Yesterday the Junior Boys played their first game against St. Mikes. The team got off to a slow start, but after the nerves left they started to play better defence and never looked back.
The final score was 40 - 23.
It was a great win and the entire team played very well for their first game.
Top 3 scorers were :
Simon Taylor with 14 pts
Nathan MacDonald 8 pts
Trevor Richardson 6 pts.
I would like to thank the students and teachers who came and watched the game over their lunch time.
It was great to have the excitement in the gym and the team responded to it.
The boys are reminded of the practice tomorrow after school.
